Movies about casinos and the exciting life in Las Vegas have always been highly popular. People love to see the poker faces of Hollywood stars on the big screen. The next big Hollywood production about casinos will be 'Casino Royale', the next James Bond movie and the last 007 that was originally written by Ian Flemming.

On this page we have put together a top 3 of popular gambling movies.

1. Casino - 1995

The movie Casino is a true classic by Martin Scorsese, featuring big names like Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone. It is an epic drama about life in a big Las Vegas Casino. De Niro playes Sam Rothstein "Ace", a jew who is the front man of the mafia's premier casino in Las Vegas in the 1970's. His sidekick is Nicky Sontoro (Pesci) and they run the casino excellently until Ginger McKenna, Sam's wife, a pretty blonde (Sharon Stone) ruins it all. This movie is based on real events of the casino underworld in the 1970's. It's a sensational movie, with a great plot of Scorsese and excellent performances by the top actors.

2. Honeymoon in Las Vegas - 1992

Honeymoon in Las Vegas is a sweet, romantic comedy with Nicolage Cage, James Caan and Sarah Jessica Parker (now extremely popular due to tv-series Sex in the City). Cage plays Jack Singer a friendly guy, who loves his girlfriend (Sarah Jessica Parker) very much but is afraid of commitment. He "loses" his girlfriend to James Caan, playing Blackjack in a Vegas Casino and has to go though all kinds of adventures to win her back. The most famous and funniest moment of the movie is when 34 Elvis Presley impersonators float down from the sky. Honeymoon in Las Vegas is a care-free, well acted great comedy.

3. Rounders - 1998

Rounders is an intelligent movie with Matt Damon, Edward Norton and John Malkovich, directed by John Dahl. Matt Daman plays Mike McDermott, a law student who gave up his passion and true talent, gambling, after he loses all his money to Teddy KGB, played hilariously by John Malkovich. Some months later, the best friend of Mike, called Worm (Norton) has to be back a $15,000 debt to Teddy and Mike has to decide if he will help his friend or not, risking his student reputation and the relationship with his girlfriend. Rounders is definitely a must-see movie.
